12 Wow-Factor Wedding Cakes

I scroll through hundreds of gorgeous cakes every week, and after 10+ years it can be tough to find 10 or 11 to fit a specific theme each Sunday. So this week, my only requirement? Wedding cakes that made me say "WOW."

Starting with this sweet and airy Art Deco number:

(Amanda Earl Cake Design, UK )

It reminds me of stained glass!

And on the other end of the spectrum:

(Very Unique Cakes, New Jersey)

Ohhh, now this one is like red smoke.

I can't get enough of this color combo:

(Immaculate Confections, UK)

Navy, lavender, teal, and berry. SO GOOD.

Here come more rich berry and fuchsia tones:

(Lima Cakes, international instructor)

I love that tiny thread of gold around the edges.

At first glance I thought this next one was Haku, the dragon in Spirited Away:

(Artisan Cake Company, as featured here)

Once I realized it's actually a sugar glass spray of water, I was even more impressed! Incredible.

You don't see orange and black together much outside of Halloween, but this beauty makes a strong case for it:

(Tomima)

A definite WOW.

The tile on this mosaic seems to be floating up and apart, which is such a dreamy effect:

(Sweet Heather Anne, Michigan)

And this one looks like a thickly textured oil painting come to life:

(The Cocoa Cakery, Ontario)

Gorgeous.

Check out this contrasting wave of watercolor silk:

(Fluffy Thoughts Cakes, Virginia)

So many of these are more like sculpture than cake!

Over here I see a whirlwind of angel wings:

(Cakes By Mannix, location)

You can almost hear them fluttering, right?

I didn't realize how much I love rich metallics and mossy greens 'til I saw this:

(Sandra Draskovic, Peru)

Oooh. I want a dress like this!

And finally, a purple gem fit for a Queen:

(Kek Couture, Turkey)

WOW.

I hope these brought some Sweetness to your Sunday!

That last topper reminds me of a gilded jewelry box, so I went looking for the prettiest one I could find on Amazon:

Feyarl Vintage Jewelry Box

It also comes in red!

And from my other blog, Epbot:

Cheesy, Old, And Of Course, NSFW

I feel like this could apply to a few of you:

It's for your own safety, really. A cake a day keeps the road rage away!

Bakers are forever amazing me with their new decorating techniques.
For instance, did you know it's possible to pipe with semi-congealed Velveeta?

I mean, not well, but there it is!

Now let's all give a wave (heyooo) to the world's oldest Canadian Flag:

Or to the baker who literally thought this was what Barbara wanted.

I'll be honest, minions: this cake Mary J. ordered was a bit of a mess:

Great perplexing piles of pastel piping, Batman!

Yes, that's the one she wanted.

Still, what Mary ended up with was definitely worse:

Ew, Batman! Just... ew.

And finally, let's talk about these "tiger stripes" on a one-year-old's birthday cake, and how they might give "Sydni Is A Wild One" a whoooole new meaning:

Just me? And Danielle? Are we the only ones seeing this?

S'ok, Danielle; my lips are sealed.

Thanks to Jamie H., Alex A., Barbara T., Mary J., & Danielle D. for the walk on the vagina side.

P.S. I hear it's cold where some of you are. Need a new sweatshirt?

Novelty Fleece-Lined Hoody Sweatshirts

These ALSO make me happy, ha. There are lots more designs to choose from, but trust me, I picked the best two. :D
(Heads up: apparently these run 2 sizes too small.)
