Sunday Sweets: Some Bunnies To Love
As I sat down to write Sweets this week, I realized that we've done Easter Sweets for the last 7 years.
Here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
So then I was all, "We should do something different," and Jen was all, "Whatever, man, you're writing it," and then I was all, "But I'm pretty sure our readers will mutiny if I write another Sweets," and she was all, "I'm trying to write a super offensive post, man, lemme 'lone."
So allow me to present:
10 Bunny Cakes That Have Nothing To Do With Easter Besides The Fact That They Happen To Be Bunny Cakes And It Happens To Be Easter®
Judy Hopps
(By Zoe's Fancy Cakes)
From Zootopia, which Jen and I haven't seen yet, but we're totally going to tonight, right, Jen?
Bugs Bunny
Ahh, a classic from my childhood. Back when shotguns and booze were regular Saturday morning cartoon fodder, and mom's idea of a fancy birthday cake was a box mix covered in tin foil.
What I'm saying is, count your blessings, Mia.
The White Rabbit
(By Sampo, originally posted here)
After seeing so many Disney versions of the perpetually late lagomorph, it's nice to see a more realistic take.
Roger Rabbit
(By Rosebud Cakes)
When I first saw this cake I thought it was pretty darned good. Then I realized it's fondant free and now I'm stunned. Absolutely brilliant.
Thumper
(By Cook For Love)
Aww, Thumper. I've never actually seen Bambi but everyone says how sad it is so I assume Thumper dies tragically by the end. Bummer.
The Velveteen Rabbit
I've also never read this book. It turns out I'm not as knowledgeable about rabbits as I thought. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the book's about a rabbit, though. Who likes velvet.
Did I mention Jen found these cakes for me? Now I'm wondering if I'll know who the rest of these rabbits are...
My Melody
(By Humming Bread Custom Cakes)
Nope.
Looks like a cat in a bunny hat, though - are we sure that counts?
Miffy
(By Birthday Center Elite - I think.)
No idea here, either.
But the bunting (that's those little flags, check out my mad vocab) literally made me go "awww."
Peter Rabbit
(By Particular Cakes)
Oh, hey, it's Peter! Peter Rabbit!
Yeah I don't know him, either. Cool jacket, tho, bro.
Jen said I have to include this one, because "the wedding cake's my favorite, don't you DARE cut it."
(By Cake Central member PeterRabbit)
I like the cabbages that look like roses.
Ya know, maybe this whole "other rabbit" thing isn't working for me.
How 'bout just one Easter bunny for old times' sake?
(By My Sweet Art)
EGG-cellent.
(Jen made me write that, too. Sorry.)
Happy Easter, my friends!
