Sunday Sweets: A Disney Movie Marathon, Part 2
Sunday Sweets is our weekly NON-Wrecks feature, the better to remind you how wrecky the Wrecks are.
Ok, Easter's over, so let's get back to our classic Disney movie marathon!
(By Christian Giardina)
It's Bambi's mom! Ack! All the feels.
Disney sure knows how to play the mom card. Remember that scene in Dumbo? o.0 But don't worry; this Dumbo cake is nothing but happy:
Gotta love those bright circus colors.
I spy some hand-painting on this Pocahontas cake:
...but whether they used all the colors of the wind is up for debate. ;)
Here's one from John's favorite:

Lady and the Tramp!
With so many big sculpted cakes out there, it's nice to see such a brilliant 2D design for single tiers. Check out the ruffles on the table cloth, the texture of their fur, and the spaghetti noodles! Plus the cake has Lady's collar wrapped around the outside edge. GENIUS.
We've devoted entire posts to Alice in Wonderland before, because it has inspired SO MANY amazing cakes. And here's one more:
(By CW reader Christie Jackson)
Look at all the detail! From the dormouse to the card doing a backflip to Alice stuck in the side "rabbit hole." Hee!
The Jungle Book still has some of Disney's best songs - so let's all hum "The Bear Necessities" while we look at this next cake, k?
(By Wonder Cake)
Humhumhum, HUM HUM HUM ha HUMMM...
(That waterfall is stunning. And the palm trees! Look at the palm trees!)
I'm not sure I've ever seen Tick-Tock the croc look so happy:
Perhaps that floating hook has something to do with it. :D
Speaking of lovable villains, anyone remember Madame Mim?
(By MG Sugarcake)
She's from The Sword in the Stone, and looks pretty fabulous made out of sugar, don't you think?
I think we should call this one "Pinocchio's Birthday":
(By Arte de Ka)
What a cool concept! And so many details! I'm in awe of the tools, the wood shavings, and the gold detailing on the books spines.
I know we had a Wreck It Ralph cake last time, but these Sugar Rush Racers MUST BE SHARED:
(By Kidacity)
Squee!!
And finally, since Frozen fever is still going strong (The line to meet Anna & Elsa at WDW right now averages four hours. FOUR HOURS!) - I thought I'd end with two more Frozen treats, since I just can't decide between them:
(By Sonata Torte)
Check out that sugar sculpting!
And then there's this one, starring Olaf:
(By Danni's Cakes)
So much to love here, but that lacy snowflake airbrushing on the cake board really brings it to the next level of gorgeous. SO COOL. (pun intended)
Hope you guys enjoyed our extended movie marathon! And as always, if you'd like to see which bakers in your area have been featured here on Sweets, check out our Sunday Sweets Directory!
